Day 2 Rome, Italy - Tour Begins You arrive in Rome today. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a special welcome dinner at a popular local restaurant featuring regional delicacies and fine Italian wines. Day 3 Rome This morning it’s your choice! Perhaps a trip to Vatican City, with an optional tour to the Vatican Museums*, will be on your personal sightseeing list. Day 4 Rome Your day is at leisure to enjoy the city of Rome on your own. Visit some of its many monuments and museums or stroll its animated streets filled with shops, cafes and gelaterie. Enjoy your free evening to sample Roman specialties at one of the city’s great restaurants. Day 5 Rome - Assisi - Perugia Day 6 Perugia - Siena - San Gimignano - Florence A scenic journey through Tuscany’s graceful low-lying hills brings you to the mystical city of Siena. You will be delighted by its narrow Gothic streets, magnificent palaces and historic Piazza del Campo. En route to Florence, stop in lovely San Gimignano, overlooking the vineyards and olive grove plantations of the Tuscan countryside. Enjoy a stroll along Piazza Del Duomo and Piazza Della Cisterna, two of Italy’s most picturesque squares. En route to Florence, visit a family-owned leather shop and learn the traditional Italian techniques of leather making. Learn how silk is made in Como Package Notes: *Due to the unpredictable nature of the events schedule at the Vatican, on certain dates it may be necessary to visit the Vatican Museums in the afternoon.
Single rooms are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. Vatican Museums are closed on Sundays and holidays that fall on Saturday. Most national museums in Florence, including the Uffizi Gallery and the Academy, are closed on Mondays. Many activities in this itinerary include walking on uneven terrain, or require significant walking at times. Some of the unique experiences, such as visiting historical areas, means accessing locations by foot because motorcoaches are restricted. If you require a walker or wheelchair, or have difficulty walking, you may not be able to access some of these areas and may want to consider an alternate holiday. Our travel counsellors can provide additional information or assistance to help you determine the perfect trip for you. *On occasion, due to inclement weather, your boat trip to Murano Island may be substituted with a visit to a local glass factory in Venice.
