Later today, enjoy a unique visit to Mary King’s Close, where you will tour Edinburgh’s fascinating ancient underground city. Next, join your fellow travelers for a traditional Scottish dinner hosted in the Great Scots Hall of the Radisson SAS Edinburgh.

Day 3
Edinburgh
This morning, during a locally-guided tour of the regal city of Edinburgh, enjoy a visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse*, the Queen''s official residence in Edinburgh and the former home of Mary, Queen of Scots. Next, visit the famous Edinburgh Castle, perched high above the city and home of the Scottish crown jewels. After the tour, enjoy lunch in the castle’s Queen Anne Room. Later this afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia, one of the world’s most famous royal ships, serving the Royal Family in Britain for over 40 years and traveling over one-million miles during its service. See family pictures hanging on the walls, artifacts collected from all over the world and the very staterooms where Prince Charles and Princess Diana spent their honeymoon. Conclude your day with dinner at a nearby restaurant featuring local cuisine.

Day 4
Edinburgh - Lake District, England - Wales
Your final stop in Scotland is at the border town of Gretna Green where generations of runaway couples came to be married. Here you will discover what it means to be married “over an anvil.” Later today you’ll enter England and travel through the picturesque English Lake District. In the heart of the Lake District, visit the charming village of Grasmere, home of the poet William Wordsworth. Next, enjoy a brief visit to the Roman walled city of Chester, perhaps one of the best-preserved walled cities in the United Kingdom. Your day ends in Northern Wales. Tonight, enjoy a traditional Welsh dinner and an introduction to Welsh Gaelic.

Day 5
Wales - Stratford-Upon-Avon, England
Start your day with a visit to the charming Welsh village of Llangollen, situated along one of the most sacred Celtic river in Western Europe, the River Dee, and known for its steam railway and colorful horse-drawn boats on the Llangollen Canal. Next, journey to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the home town of William Shakespeare, England’s most famous playwright. Walk in Shakespeare’s footsteps, visiting his birthplace as well as his wife’s thatch-roofed home, Anne Hathaway’s cottage.

Day 6
Stratford-Upon-Avon - London
This morning, travel to the magnificent capital city of London where you will enjoy a locally-guided sightseeing tour. Highlights include Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Kensington Palace. The balance of the day is at leisure. You may plan to shop on famous Oxford Street or perhaps visit Covent Garden, famous for its street performers, restaurants and the Royal Opera House.

Day 7
London
Today, embark on a leisurely cruise along the historic Thames River. Next, visit the Tower of London, a UNESCO World Heritage site. See the Traitors’ Gate, the Bloody Tower and the Block where two of Henry the VIII’s wives - Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard - lost their heads. Then, behold the famed and elegant Crown Jewels. Next, partake in the very British custom of an elegant afternoon tea with all the traditional British fare. London has one of the best live theatre scenes in the world. Tonight, following dinner at a local restaurant, you will enjoy one of London’s spectacular theatre performances.
