Day 1
Overnight Flight Day 2 Stockholm, Sweden - Tour Begins Your tour begins today in the beautiful city of Stockholm. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner in the old town at Fem Sma Hus, 5 connected timber-framed houses from the 17th century that capture the flavor of a bygone era. Day 3 Stockholm Begin your day with a tour of Stockholm''s city sights, showcasing the city''s greatest vistas and attractions. Visit City Hall, stroll through the Gamla Stan (Old Town) and see the Riddarholm Church, the Royal Palace, and the Parliament. Visit the unique Vasa Ship Museum and learn about its shocking maiden voyage, when it sank in one nautical mile. This ship, commissioned in the 1600''s by King Vasa, was raised 334 years later from its sunken ocean home. Perfectly preserved, it offers a rare glimpse into the amazing craftsmanship of the 17th century. Day 4 Stockholm - Oslo, Norway Behold the picturesque landscape as you travel to the Norwegian border. This afternoon you arrive in Oslo, the smallest capital city in Scandinavia. Oslo is filled with beautiful green parks, interesting architecture, and inlet islands. Day 5 Oslo A guided tour of Oslo features the Viking Ship Museum’s thousand-year-old Viking ships. Continue the tour along Karl Johan Street and view the Royal Palace and City Hall in quaint downtown Oslo. Next, visit the Vigeland Park, home to a unique collection of statues and sculptures. Later this afternoon enjoy leisure time to relax or explore independently. Day 6 Oslo - Lillehammer - Loen This morning travel north to the county’s largest lake, Lake Mjosa. Before a panoramic view of the 1994 Winter Olympic site of Lillehammer, stop at the 17th century Annexstad Farm. Meet the owner, whose family has owned the farm for generations, and get a glimpse of farm life through the years. Continue through Norway’s Gudbrandsdal Valley to the spectacular fjord region. Spend the next two nights in beautiful Loen, nestled on the banks of the North Fjord. Day 7 Loen - Geirangerfjord - Loen Spend the day enchanted by the dramatic landscape of the fjord region of Norway. Journey north to Hellesylt and embark on an exhilarating fjord cruise. Traverse one of Norway''s majestic fjords, known as the Geirangerfjord. Day 8 Loen - Stalheim Begin your day with a memorable visit to the amazing Briksdal Glacier, considered one of the most beautiful glaciers in Norway. Your travels continue south across the mighty Sognefjord, the largest and deepest of Norway''s fjords. Tonight, enjoy the renowned Stalheim Hotel, with a view that has inspired many artists. Day 9 Stalheim - “Norway in a Nutshell” - Bergen This morning embark on a memorable two-hour fjord cruise on the Naeroy fjords, the most narrow and spectacular branch of the Sognefjord. Next, journey along the renowned Flam Railway, witnessing some of the world’s most scenic wilderness as you ascend 3,000 feet - passing mighty waterfalls, towering mountains, and amazing valleys. Cap off this amazing day in Bergen, the “Gateway to the Fjords”. Bergen was founded in 1070 and today is known for its old-world charm and scenic landscape. Day 10 Bergen Today, independently explore this beautiful town. Spend time walking along the harborfront known as the Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This city is widely known for the thriving activity from the German Hanseatic merchants that dominated for 400 years. Your Tour Manager will be on hand to offer suggestions for how to best spend your day. Day 11 Bergen - Copenhagen, Denmark Take a morning flight* to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Accompany a local expert on an engaging city tour and view Denmark’s center of Parliament known as Christianborg; Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish Royal Family; and the Royal Theater. Conclude the tour at the Little Mermaid Statue, a 1913 sculpture honoring Hans Christian Andersen’s famous fictional character. Day 12 Copenhagen The day is yours to visit the many shops or famous museums in the city. Tonight, the illuminating fantasy world of Tivoli Gardens* and dinner at the Restaurant Balkonen is the setting for your farewell dinner. Day 13 Copenhagen - Tour Ends
Know Before You Go... Land prices do not include flights from your departure city or internal flights within Scandinavia. All air, including internal flights, can be purchased through Collette Vacations. Tivoli Gardens and Restaurant Balkonen will be open from April 16-September 19. They are closed at all other times.
